Avira configuration

Hi, i have a problem to configure download statusbar with my avira premium. I have done some try and i think the problem is with path.
Do you know the correct syntax for path or other solution?

Arguments - /GUIMODE=2 /PATH=%file%

This scans and goes away. If you change the 2 to a 1, I think it leaves the Antivir scan screen up?

I configured it exactly as stated, but it does not only scan only the downloaded file, but goes on and on to do do full scan!

look at this link, it will help you: www.avira.com/en/support/kbdetails.php?id=229. but you need to edit the config file which you can download on the website. Just open it with the notepad editor and change the value "GuiMode" from 1 to 0. and now it should work. have fun.

With Avira 8.2.0.334 and the provided filescan.avp, the MBR is still scanned (or perhaps it silently fails?) and it takes about 2 minutes to move on. And apparently the /GUIMODE arg overrides the setting in filescan.avp. Plus, it takes about 45 seconds to cancel scanning the MBR.

What's the dealio?

This works for me since Avira changed the file that does that kind of scan

C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\avcls.exe

Change the path to the avcls.exe file according to your version of Avira

Arguments remain %1

I got the above tip from the Avira forum BTW, and I set not to scan these files jpg, jpeg, gif, png, bmp, tiff, ico, htm, html

Do not scan htm an html DL's because you could get some 100 scans within a minute, because every single item in the htm or html page is scanned !

This took me forever to get working but it should of been easy that's why I'm writing this. It works but it requires a config and batch file.
Firefox 3.5.7 & Avira AntiVir 9

May need to change folder paths to fit your install



Create a new text document and
Paste the following text into it.

@echo off
start "" "C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\avscan.exe" /CFG="C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\filescan.avp" /PATH="%1"

Then save the document and close notepad
Rename the text document filescan.cmd
(You may have to uncheck Hide known file extension inside of windows explorer Organize Folder search options to change the file extension to .cmd instead of .txt)


Create another new text document and
Paste the following text into it.

[CFG]
GuiMode=1
ExitMode=1

[SEARCH]
Parameter=0x00300432

[CONTROLCENTER]
ProfileName=ShlExt

[SCANNER]

Then save the document and close notepad
Rename the text document filescan.avp

Navigate to Avira's install folder mine is
"C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Desktop"

Drag the filescan.cmd and the filescan.avp into your install folder.

Open Firefox go to addons
scroll down to "download statusbar"
click options click virus scan tab
check the "manually scan.." box
Insert the location to the "filescan.cmd" file where it says
Anti-Virus program location
Mine was
C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\filescan.cmd

make sure %1 is in the argument box.
click apply and ok

test it out by downloading something
