I really enjoyed this extention up until FF 1.5. All of my menu settings returneded to default and I can no longer change anything. I tried uninstalling the plugin and reinstalling it. I tried reinstalling FF 1.5 to no avail. I turned on FF1.5 with a different user (using the profile manager) installed the menu editor on the new blank profile and it did work.
I do not want to make over my entire profile. that is the only way I have been able to get the extention to work properly so far.

delete "menuedit.rdf" in your profile folder when firefox is closed, then restart firefox
