Hi all; This is my first post. I use DSBar and its a great tool. Thanks Problem - I have configured Avast (v 4.7 Home) to scan and its works very well. Too well if fact. When I 'save a page' to local PC from the web, or I generate an htm. or html. document locally, view in FF2 and 'Save as' I get the download or 'save' as a download, the Avast local scanner opens up and rapidly scans the html doc, but then it scans 20-30 times, in what I assume are all the links that are in the html doc. I get 20-30 windows that I have to close... Heres an image if I can post it; I tried to add an 'argument' that would at least auto close all the scan windows, but no joy. Anybody have any ideas? I would not mind the multi windows, I think that is just the program doing exactly what it should do, but I really hate having to close all the windows, or use a kb shortcut to kill All Windows on the desktop...hehhe Thanks dmc

There is a bug in firefox that I opened on this problem bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360308Firefox sends a 'download done' event for every accessory file that is included in the html file (images, script files, etc). But instead of indicating each particular file, what is actually happening is firefox is telling my program that the same html has been downloaded multiple times. It's kinda a mess I know. For now, it might just be a good idea to add html to the list of ignored extension in the download statusbar virus scan options.

Hi Devon J - thanks for the quick Response. I did config the Options>General to ignore htm and html (no 'dot' period ) but that had no effect, and I (stupidly) did not think that I would have to 'ignore' the htm and html on Options> Virus Scan..... Thanks for the workaround suggestion - I hope that FF takes you up on the bug report and gets it worked out - The DSBar is a great little tool. Thanks again dmc Update - I added htm and html to the Options>Virsu Scan>Ignore and it works fine. Still adds the download to the StatusBar but does not scan and open the 30 dialoque windows....hehe....Thanks. Update update - after using Ignore I just went to the download folder and did a standard right click, scan *.html with the Explorer menu command for AV and got a single dialoque window, so no more work than would have been with the original FF download manager, but I still get the nice clean DSBar interface on the browser - Thanks.
