Hi, I used to scan downloaded files with Download scan 1.0 and Klamav (I'm using Linux Suse). This worked fine, but the new version (1.1) keeps launching a lot of istances of the antivirus program (more than 50) when I download a single file. So I can't use it anymore. Can you correct it, please? Thank you Xwang

I don't know why this would happen, You could try reinstalling version 1.0 (get it here) If you are on firefox 1.5 you can use an extension called "nightly tester tools" to force this old version to install into firefox 1.5

Thank you for your help. I tried with version 1.0 and nothing has changed. So, maybe it's a problem related with firefox 1.5 under linux. Have you ever tested your extension under linux? Xwang

Yeah, it must be a bug in firefox 1.5. I don't use linux, so I generally have to rely on others to test.

Can you fix this bug? With FF 1.0.7 Download Scan worked very well under Linux while now the same problem occurs with Download Statusbar if I try to launch the antivirus scanner at the end of each download. Perhaps you could investigate the problem using a distro which has a live version so that you don't have to install linux on your pc. Infact the problem happens even if you specify a "fake" antivirus. In such a case you will see a lot of alerts that warn you that the program does not exist. Moreover if you want, I can test for you under linux. Xwang
PS Sorry for my bad English! I'm studying to improve it. Correct me, if you want!

Sorry, I just don't have time to track down firefox bugs on operating systems that I don't use. The code for download scan is open so if someone else who uses linux can suggest a patch I can add it
