I have followed the instructions and put a red X next to the private browsing item but when I open the menu in firefox 4.0 I still see the option to start in private browsing. I want to remove this option (I have a tween in the house..) from the firefox menu. Can someone help me? I have followed your instructions and restarted firefox but it will not go away!
If I can get this to work it would be great!!

Firefox 4.0, Menu Editor 1.w7, Windows 7 Home Premium: I marked Start Private Browsing as to not be shown in the Firefox Tools Menu, and clicked on "Apply" in Menu Editor.
I then returned to the FF main window, pressed Alt, clicked on Tools, "Start Private Browsing" was not shown. I reversed the setting in Menu Editor, and Start Private Browsing reappeared.
That written, I will only repeat the oft-posted advice to parents who ask about such things: Teach your children, it is your responsibility.

Sorry if I wasn't clear... If I use the new firefox button (large orange on left) the second item listed is start private browsing. (this is when the view toolbar - menu bar is not checked (hidden)) I do not see it in the tools menu when I switch back to the classic view with the menu bar showing but I can't get it to go away when I use the new "firefox" tab. Can you help me?
I do teach responsibility but I don't need to make it too easy for a tween.

Is there a way for this to work with the new Firefox 4.0 menu button (instead of the menubar toolbar)? I also need it to hide the second entry - Start Private Browsing.
