Devon,
First off - THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
What I wished to have was quite simple - to have the 'zoom page' function resettable easily from the right click Main Page Context Menu.
Being older - I find I zoom in and out a lot - and always having to go to the keyboard, with a multi-key press to zoom - and then to break concentration and go up to the 'main menu bar - view - zoom' - to reset it (can remember +/- - but too many 'shortcut keystrokes' to remember adding more complex options ... ). Zooming out does NOT always work - because, for SOME pages to work properly - they must be zoomed at exactly NOTHING - otherwise, there are problems. Yeah, poorly designed pages on the web - who woulda thunk it !!!! That is why RESET is best for those types of pages.
Plus - having the entire page zoom at the 'mouse level' IS handy - ImageZoom is nice off the mouse - but it doesn't do the 'entire page' - text and everything ... easily.
You got me there - quite nicely.
I would like to suggest that the Menu Items that get shuffled around by your Editor - be not just a 'cut-paste' type operation - but also offer a COPY-PASTE option.
I know that even the main FireFox menu edits (customize toolbars) ARE also limited to ONLY cut-paste - and don't allow a menu item to show up in multiple locations.
Many users, myself included, would find this to be useful. It is similar to the difference of having a single 1/2 inch box open end wrench to your name - and you must decide exactly which one of the toolboxes you possess that it will go in - rather than having multiple copies in multiple places.
Perhaps others can see the value in this ??
Cutting 'movement' down - up and down menu trees, go find this menu to do this exact function, move the mouse here there everywhere - go to the keyboard when you're mostly mousing, go to the mouse when you're mostly keyboarding - lots of human design issues, and usability issues involved.
Too many optiions DOES clutter things up - as you point out. By the same token - putting the COMMONLY NEEDED tools everyplace the user is commonly using them from, also makes sense.
This also allows us to LEAVE THE DEFAULT FIREFOX menu structure alone - so that a 'visitor' would not be totally hosed on trying to figure out where in the heck we put the tools he is used to having. Sortof the problem with Microsoft 'software' right now - sitting down at a different users excel or word spread sheet - if they are an advanced user - is like looking at a totally different universe.
Again DEVON - this is a WONDERFUL TOOL ... AS IS. THANK-YOU.
My suggestions are simply that - not complaints in any manner.
(don't know why this is posting as a guest - I have registered, confirmed, verified, and logged in to the 'monkeytrots' user id. That has my reply to e-mail address in it, Devon - if you wish to take it off board. TIA )
