Why does this have to be done as an addon? Addons take up RAM whenever FF is running. Why can't it be done as an offline Java program (for platform independence) or even a command line Perl script?
All I want to do is to learn the structure of menuedit.rdf, so I can edit it manually if necessary.
BTW, on my Mac, this totally rewrote the File menu before I asked for any changes. The other menus could not be changed.

Sorry, I hit the Preview button, and it posted it. I couldn't find the post button on the preview page, so I hit the back button and posted. So it wound up getting posted twice.
I looked in the page source. It's because it tagged it as a Submit button and used javash*t to call the preview, and for all good reason, I did indeed have javash*t disabled.
A web site that does not work without javash*t is a web site that does not work.
